Fabulous Mother's Day 2013

I am living my dream, daily! I am so happy being a mom of 2 precious boys. I know I am blessed that I can be at home with them.  I am also so grateful for my mother and for Larry's mom who worked so hard to raise us with faith in the Lord and a desire to live close to Him.

This last Sunday's Mother's Day was really special because it was the first time that James was really excited about what he had made that he wanted to give to me for Mother's Day. He had made it at school several months ago, and he told me that his teacher was making them wait to give it their moms until Mother's Day. So, when I picked him up from school, this past Friday, he was so excited about what he was carrying in this big paper bag. I promised that I wouldn't peak nor ask him what was inside it. I told him I couldn't wait until Sunday morning, and he told me he couldn't wait either!
Finally, here we are on Sunday morning. My boys and I.

James and I with his gift bag from school.

Getting ready to open it.  Johnny excitedly watching from behind.

The little heart-shaped "pinch pot" James had made and painted just for me!

Larry and James made a special dessert for our Mother's Day celebration- Strawberry Lemonade Cake.  Johnny wasn't too keen on it- "It's gross" he said.  James helped make it and he loved it. Me too!

Here is Larry, the man of my dreams, posing in a picture with me.  (Thank goodness James takes good pictures for a 6 year old!)  Larry makes every day "Mother's Day" in our lives together. How blessed I am!

"Joggin' for James' Noggin"

James loves to run. He wants to run track when he gets older. Recently his school held a fundraiser: "Joggin' for your Noggin'. " James was eager to participate. I had him write most of the letters he sent out to some family and friends. Then, the last week of April, his school held the event. I went to support our little runner.
Here is James with other kids participating before the running starts.  Johnny wanted to sit by his big brother.

James passing by on one of the laps that he ran.

James had to walk a little and Johnny really wanted to join his brother. I love this pic and wish I had zoomed closer to get James' arm around Johnny.

"I've gotta run, now, Johnny, ok?"

James, our runner!!

After all is done, waiting for his medal.

He did it!  James sporting his medal!
